Thoughts to Ponder...

Hands - Thoughts to PonderWords by HH Pope Shenouda III:

"Remember God's promises, and you will be comforted in all your troubles. But if you forget them, say with David the Prophet, "Remember Your word to Your servant, upon which You have caused me to hope. This is my comfort in my affliction. For Your word has given me life." (Psalm 119:49-50)

"Remember always that you are a stranger on the earth and that you will return to your heavenly home; then you will not put all your hopes in this world and its comforts."

"Remember your eternity and work for it at all times."

"Remeber that you are a child of God, and ought to have His image. You walk as fits the Children of God, for they are apparent."

"Remember death, so all worldly temptations will disappear and you feel that, "all is vanity and grasping for the wind." (Eccl. 1:14)

"Remember the loving kindess of the Lord bestowed on you, and you will always lead a life of thanksgiving. Faith will grow in your heart as well as the trust in God's love and work. Your past experiences with God would encourage you in the life of faith."

"Remember that you are the temple fo the Holy Spirit, and do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God in you. Be always a holy temple."

"Remember that you are standing before God and He is looking at you, then you cannot sin because you see Him."

The 10 Commandments of Human Relations:

1. Speak to people. There is nothing as nice as a cheerful word of greeting.
2. Smile at people. It takes 72 muscles to frown, and only 14 to smile.
3. Call people by their name. The sweetest music to anyone's ear is the sound of their own name.
4. Be friendly and helpful. If you want to have friends, be a friend.
5. Be cordial. Speak and act as if everything you do is a genuine pleasure.
6. Be genuinely interested in people. You can like almost everybody if you try.
7. Be generous with praise; cautious with criticism.
8. Be considerate to the feelings of others. There are usually 3 sides to a disagreement: yours, the other person's, and the right side.
9. Be alert to give service. What counts most in life is what we do for others.
10. Add to this a good sense of humour, a big dose of patience and a dash of humility, and you will be rewarded manifold.

Letter from God

Good morning,

I am God. Today I will be handling all of your problems. Please remember that I do not need your help. If the devil happens to deliver a situation to you that you cannot handle, DO NOT attempt to resolve it. Kindly put it in the SFJTD (Something For Jesus To do) box. It will be addressed in My name, not yours.

Once the matter is placed into the box, do not hold onto it or attempt to remove it. Holding on or removal will delay the resolution of your problem. If it is a situation that you think you are capable of handling, please consult me in prayer to be sure that it is the proper resolution. Because I do not sleep not do I slumber, there is no need for you to lose any sleep. Rest my child. If you need to contact me, I am only a prayer away.

If Jesus Came to Your House

If Jesus came to your house to spend a day or two,
If He came unexpectedly, I wonder what you'd do.
Oh, I know you'd give your nicest room to such an honoured guest,
And all the food you'd serve to Him would be the very best.
And you would keep assuring Him you're glad to have Him there,
That serving Him in your own home is joy beyond compare.

But when you saw Him coming, would you meet Him at the door,
With arms outstretched in welcome to your heavenly visitor?
Or would you have to change your clothes before you let Him in,
Or hide some magazines and put the Bible where they'd been?
Would you turn off the radio and hope He hadn't heard,
And wish you hadn't uttered that last, loud and hasty word?

Would you hide your worldly music and put some hymn books out?
Could you let Jesus right in, or would you rush about?
And I wonder if the Saviour spent a day or two with you,
Would you go right on doing the things you always do?
Would you keep right on saying the things you always say?
Would life for you continue as it does from day to day?

Would your family conversation keep up its usual pace,
And would you find it hard each meal to say a table grace?
Would you sing the songs you always sing and read the books you read
And let Him know the things on which your mind and spirit feed?
Or would you take Jesus with you everywhere you'd planned to go,
Or would you maybe change your plans for just a day or so?

Would you be glad to have Him meet your very closest friends,
Or would you hope they'd stay away until His visit ends?
Would you be glad to have Him stay forever on and on,
Or would you sigh with great relief when He at last was gone?
It might be interesting to know the things that you would do
In Jesus Christ in person came to spend some time with you.
